Ann went on to invent a flashlight powered entirely by the body heat of your hand. Her dream - mass production leading to low cost flashlights that could bring self-powered illumination to the undeveloped world. Ann’s website: https://annmakosinski.com/Ann-s-Story

12/29/2020 0 Comments mensches, manNo one likes to feel bad about themselves. When you hear "mensch" what do you think? You think:
"Mensches, man, mensches." Right? Because everyone knows a mensch is a female do-gooder ... or a male do-gooder, or a gender nonbinary do-gooder. And those people are so very very good, they make us feel very very bad by comparison. Right? Well, sure, they would if that's what a mensch were. But a mensch ain't that. Not here, anyways. Not in Menschville. Here in Menschville being a mensch is not about doing-gooder than anyone else. It's not about being above average in one's do-goodliness, or living an entirely goodly life, or winning a trophy for being the goodliest guy/gal/they around. Though trophies are cool, if you won one for being a wonderful human being, that's wonderful for you, just shut the fuck up about it at parties. It's making us all feel like asses. In fact, being a mensch is not about being better than you, holier than thou or greater than thee. Because being a mensch can span a lifetime or a nanosecond. In fact, being a mensch is just that: a state of being. A state that anyone can achieve by thinking a menschful thought, saying a menschy thing or doing a mensch-like deed. Like any state of being, one's Menschfulness can be cultivated and grown. Here in Menschville, we devote ourselves to the art of creating menschful moments. Zen in the art of menschfulness if you will. Because doing good, thinking good, eating good, if only for a nanosecond, it feels good. And who doesn't want to feel good? So let's get started .... welcome to Menschville! |
